Tim Pegram, author of The Blue Ridge Parkway By Foot - A Park Ranger's Memoir, will be the speaker for the High Country Writers on Thursday, March 11, 10 am, at the Watagua County Library in Boone. Tim will be sharing the experience of walking and writing about his one-of-a-kind Parkway backpacking trip. Twelve years as a ranger on the Parkway, he will tell of his personal accounts and those from the earliest Parkway rangers. His book is dedicated to every girl and boy with dreams of someday becoming a park ranger, and to every man and woman who dreamed but never did. Come and enjoy,plus learn about writing a memoir....we all have one. This meeting is open to the public.
The High Country Writers organization meets the second and fourth Thursdays of most months from 10 a.m. to noon at the Watauga County Public Library
About the Author
Tim Pegram is a native of North Carolina. Retired from Federal Service in 2002 and began freelance writing in 2005. He currently writes the "Such is Life" humor column for the Greensboro News and Record. He has written articles for various newspapers and magazines. He is currently writing another book of non-fiction about his 2007 cross country trek from Raleigh to Cold Mountain, a reenactment of Inman's 1864 journey from the novel, Cold Mountain written by Charles Frazier. Tim and his wife Patty reside in Oak Ridge, NC - a father and grandfather. Patty will be joining Tim for the meeting on the 11th. He will have copies of his book, The Blue Ridge Parkway by Foot and will be glad to sign.
