Dedication and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at The New Watauga High School

Description

Excitement grows as the move-in date for teachers and students quickly approaches.

Hemric, Principal Michael Wyant, Board of Education members Lowell Younce and Deborah Miller, county commissioners and a representative from Golden Leaf will all speak briefly during the grand opening celebration. N.C. Gov. Bev Perdue will deliver the keynote address.

Current WHS students will lead public tours through the new facility after the ceremony. Students will lead community members through the academic wings and the main common areas of the facility. Weather permitting, students will take the public to the athletic facilities around the campus. The public can also go on self-guided tours.

The grand opening celebration will be held rain or shine.
