Description

Open town-hall with presentations on the Constitutional, ethical, political, and religious implications of NC's proposed Amendment to the state Constitution that would single out gays for discriminatory treatment and also end legal recognition of civil unions, among other consequences. This amendment will be on the ballot in the May 8th primary election. Among the speakers: Colin Stephans, ACLU-NC; Dr. Adam Newmark, ASU Political Science Dept.; Dr. Matt Robinson, ASU Criminal Justice; Rev. Marcia Cham of the United Methodist Church; Jen Jones, Coalition to Protect NC Families. Teach-In sponsored by People's Alliance for American Liberty (PAAL), a Watauga County org (http://paalpac.com and https://www.facebook.com/PAALPAC).
