Join a park ranger for a guided wildflower walk in Grandfather Mountain State Park. Grandfather Mountain produces an amazing variety of wildflowers, which change from week to week, so join us throughout the season to experience the changes! This hike will explore Bear Paw State Natural Area, a satellite territory of Grandfather Mountain State Park. This hike is easy and the pace will be slow - all experience levels welcome. We will see the early spring wildflowers of rich cove, northern hardwood forest, and old field environments.

Hike Length and Difficulty:
2 Miles round trip, slow pace, moderate terrain; unmaintained road beds, uneven and often muddy. Wear closed-toe, walking shoes, dress in layers for the weather and prepare to be outside. Water and snacks recommended. You may bring field guides, cameras, binoculars. Participants under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. No pets, please.
